Training and talks

The Welfare Benefits Unit is committed to an extensive training programme throughout York and North Yorkshire to raise awareness about the range of benefits available.

Our most popular training course is a three-day Introduction to Welfare Benefits and Tax Credits course, which is designed for beginners and is repeated at regular intervals throughout the year.

We provide a range of one-day courses such as Benefits for Older People, Decision Making and Appeals, and Benefits into Work.

Contact us for our current training programme.

We also respond to requests for training from different organisations such as Citizens Advice Bureaux, Housing Associations, carers' organisations and local councils.

Talks

The Welfare Benefits Unit gives talks to a wide range of groups including hospital staff, Connexions and support groups. The talks may be about a particular type of benefit, a forthcoming change in the rules, or increasing general awareness.
